Jordan A.W. Barkey

Jordan A.W. Barkey is an attorney in CMDA’s Livonia office, focusing his practice on appellate advocacy, complex legal research, and civil litigation. He represents clients across all levels of state and federal court, regularly drafting persuasive briefs, arguing cases before appellate courts, and providing comprehensive research support across the firm’s practice areas.

Mr. Barkey brings extensive experience to appellate proceedings alongside substantial trial work in third-party auto claims, first-party no-fault matters, and uninsured motorist disputes. His litigation background also encompasses complex general negligence, premises liability, dog-bite claims, municipal police misconduct, and Section 1983 civil rights actions. This diverse experience equips him with a distinct perspective, enabling him to effectively evaluate risk, negotiate positions, and advocate for his clients at every stage of litigation.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and proudly carries on a historic family legacy as a fifth-generation Michigan attorney—continuing a tradition of legal practice in the state that dates back to 1912.

Inspired by his grandfather and supported by his family, Mr. Barkey maintains a strong commitment to public service alongside his legal career. Outside the office, he actively gives back to the community by volunteering at the Free Legal Aid Clinic of Detroit and participating in the Genesee County Bar Association’s Feed the Homeless outreach initiatives.
